Requirements
for Obtaining
a Real Estate License
OKLAHOMA:
 | 18 years of
age or older |
 | High school
diploma or G.E.D. |
 | 6 semester credit
hours in real estate courses from an accredited college or university
or 96 classroom hours from a Oklahoma approved proprietary school
(Courses must be completed prior to taking the Real Estate Licensing
Examination) |
 | Apply for and
pass examination |
 | Submit your
application for licensure, fees, transcripts, copy of college or high
school diploma or G.E.D to the Real Estate Commission |
 | Affiliate with
a sponsoring broker before your license is activated |

Notify the Oklahoma
Real Estate Commission and request a Privacy Act Waiver prior
to taking any courses or examination if you have been convicted of a
crime which is a felony offense.
Testing:
To make a reservation to take the examination, call: 800.274.5629. Cancellations
must be made a minimum of four days in advance. There are approximately
seven examination sites in Oklahoma, e, and Lawton. You
will need to bring to the testing center: two forms of identification,
your reservation confirmation number, and the examination fee in the
form of a cashiers check, certified check or money order. Exams are
scored immediately on site. Candidates will be provided the forms necessary
to apply for their real estate license upon passing the examination.
Licensees may not begin work until their license has been received by
the office of their principal broker. Sales Associates are exempt from
required continuing education for the first calendar year in which they
are licensed.

After you have become licensed, you will have to complete an additional
ten-hour post licensure course. Only after you have completed the ten-hour
post licensure course will your continuing education courses count for
the 30 hours of continuing education required to be completed every
three years to maintain your license.
Testing:
In order to schedule the real estate examination, your application,
examination fee and photocopies of your transcript or certificate of
completion of educational requirements must be received by the Lawton Division of Real Estate. A 2"x 2" photograph of you must be enclosed
and the application must be typed. Within ten days you will receive
a notice to appear for the test. You must bring a picture I.D. issued
by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and your notice to appear letter.
